Sales and Marketing Associate - Part Time
Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in sustaining local journalism by selling ads in Coastside Magazine, our online news site and our daily newsletter. Your duties will include:
- Creating a sales and marketing plan,
- Identifying new advertising sales prospects, and
- Closing new ad sales.
A passion for supporting quality local journalism is essential.
Work Hours, Compensation, and Benefits
Work Hours: This position is part-time (15-29 hours) with semi-remote working arrangements.
Compensation: Base pay is $20 per hour. In addition, there is a commission of 15% for new sales for first year of publication.
Location: Applicants must reside on or near the Coastside.
Reporting: The Sales and Marketing Associate will report directly to the Publisher. You'll be part of our sales team which includes ongoing advertising, design and layout, and administrative support.
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for local journalism.
- Experience working in small organizations.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- College degree preferred.
