Based on the Broadway comedy - Manhattan art gallery owners Barbara and David have their domestic tranquility shattered upon the arrival of Barbara's sister (Trudy) along with her uptight CPA husband (Martin) AND stereotypical Jewish Mother (Sophie). Ostensibly here to save their college student daughter from a life of promiscuity things really get rolling when the Sophie hits it off with the elderly minimalist artist (Muarice)!
