Music: Paul Mehling & The Ivory Boys
A new spinoff group from the Hot Club of San Francisco, The Ivory Club Boys, perform a tribute to the swinging electric violin sound of Stuff Smith (& his Onyx Club Boys). Featuring Evan Price on electric violin, Clint Baker on trumpet, Paul Mehling on electric guitar, Sam Rocha on bass & Isabelle Magidson on rhythm guitar & vocals. A departure from the Hot Club SF’s usual gypsy jazz this version of the group finds the sound of 52nd street in New York circa 1930 when swing was for dancing and listening (just like now!).
