British Invasion!
More than a tribute band, this group is pure and absolute fun!
Come, enjoy the magic, the myth and the music--
NIGEL and CLIVE, according to their infallible memories, were the most popular band in the U.K. in the early 60s. Through a series of unfortunate events, they lost the rights to their music, which was stolen and re-recorded by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Hollies, Peter and Gordon, The Animals, Herman’s Hermits, The Dave Clark Five, and many other stars of the “British Invasion” era (between 1964 and 1968). As a result, Nigel and Clive were soon eclipsed by the other groups and word of their genius never spread across the pond. Hence, most Americans are unaware of the profound influence these musical pioneers had on one of the most remarkable and world-changing eras in musical history. Those lucky enough to secure tickets to their April 11 concert at Pacifica Performances will not only hear the original versions of dozens of classic British Invasion hits performed live on stage, but see the amazing back- story through a dazzling multimedia presentation.
SEE how they missed their flight to New York to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show!
CRY as you watch them toil for decades to restore their good name!
THRILL to the never-before-seen video of the capture of Beano, their deaf-mute drummer!
GASP in disbelief at the tragic story of bassist Basil Mountbottom!
LAUGH at the colorful stories about the great bands and larger-than-life personalities of the era!
At the end, many may ask “It it a true story?” To which Nigel and Clive will reply “Well, it’s true that it is a story!”
