Music: Maikel Garcia Trio
Cuban saxophonist, composer, singer, Maikel Garcia, combines jazz, bossanova and funk to create a unique fusion of rhythms. He founded several successful bands in Cuba, such as TGMay, La Alianza and Orbita 1. In 2009 he moved to Belize, where he founded the well-known trio, Banda Cubana and played with the "Omolewa Osa...in Project", the Cuban-Garifuna Jazz band of internationally acclaimed percussionist, Carlos Perrote.
In July 2013, he launched his debut album, "Para Suerte Mia". He recently relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area from Ecuador, where he played to sold out crowds with legendary guitar virtuoso Jorge Triana, The Reunion Cuenca Jazz, The Ecuadorian National Jazz Award winning Kuky Ortega Project, Pacho Marchan and Ale Dimogli.
