CA Coastal Cleanup Day
California Coastal Cleanup Day
Every year, on the third Saturday in September, people join together at over 1,000 sites all over California to take part in the State's largest volunteer event, California Coastal Cleanup Day. In 2018, 71,756 volunteers removed over 800,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California's beaches, lakes, and waterways. Families, friends, coworkers, scout troops, school groups, service clubs, and individuals come together to celebrate and share their appreciation of California's fabulous coast and waterways. The California Coastal Commission coordinates this event from the state level, working with county coordinators from outstanding organizations to pull off this grand community effort. The event is also part of the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Ocean Conservancy, which is the largest volunteer event on the planet!
The Pacific Beach Coalition will conduct a no-host celebration from 11am to 12:30pm - Location TBD. Check the PBC's website for updates
