Art+Wine: Chinese Lotus Painting
Create an original piece of art while enjoying your favorite wine and food.
Do you enjoy Asian Art? This is your opportunity to learn and create a beautiful Chinese style painting! This class is designed for creatives of all levels of artistic experience. Instruction is led in a step-by-step fully informative stru...cture; no one left behind!
The first segment of class will include a brief history of Chinese ink painting that will inspire your inner creative. Your instructor will then demonstrate and lead the class in practicing simple brush holding and mark making techniques on paper before diving into the final painting. The Chinese lotus image will be taught in a "follow me" format utilizing your new skills with acrylic and ink. We will work with a long format canvas to emulate the scrolls of traditional Chinese paintings.
Your Instructor: Jennifer is an enthusiastic art maker and teacher originally from the East Coast and now calls Pacifica home. She holds a BA in Studio Art and has had extensive training in Chinese painting and Calligraphy during the 3 years she lived in Taiwan. Her style of teaching is rooted in simple language and always carried with some good humor.
Class Fee is $50
All art supplies are included. Food and beverages are not included in the ticket price.
Note: The licensing at the venue, A Grape in the Fog, requires all persons be over the age of 21.
