The San Mateo County Youth Commission's 2016 Youth Conference

Tiffany Zhong - Keynote Speaker: 
featured in the Time's 30 Most Influential Teens of 2015! Tiffany is an analyst and associate at Binary Capital, a venture-capital firm in San Francisco. Tiffany is only 18 and already is leading in a role that is often reserved for much older workers, many with MBA's. 

Carole Groom, Legislative Panelist:
was elected to the Board of Supervisors in June 2010, served as President of the Board in 2011 and in 2015. Prior to Supervisor Groom’s appointment in 2009, she served nine years on the San Mateo City Council, including two terms as Mayor, and on the San Mateo Planning and Public Works Commissions.Supervisor Groom’s legislative priorities include expanded access to quality preschool and literacy, improvedaccess to healthcare for all, environmental protection, preservation of County’s parks, and growing the local economy. Carole is a major advocate for youth as she represents for theSan Mateo County Youth Commission.

Performing: 
Pretty Shanks, an alternative rock band from San Francisco Bay Area, drawing influences from bands like Green Day, Nirvana, and the Offspring. Their music is all original with Vincent Tinsay on guitar and vocals, Tom McHugh on bass guitar and Devin Dohrmann on drums.
