DESCRIPTION:The Friends of San Pedro Hosts: \n\nPark Talks\, Featuring "Plants of San Pedro Valley Park"\n\n\n\nEach month the Friends of San Pedro Valley host talks that explore the ecology and history of San Pedro Valley Park. Meet at the San Pedro Valley visitor's center.\n\n\n\nFeb 13th: Plants of San Pedro Valley Park w/Jorg & Mimi Fleige\n\nMimi will highlight some of the uses of San Pedro Valley Park's native plants\, as she narrates Jorg's visual display of the park flora. The couple is well known in the East and North Bay\, having given programs in that area\, but this presentation will be specially tailored for those interested in San Pedro Valley Park.\n\nJorg and Mimi are graduates of Sonoma State\, where he majored in Archeology and she in Psychology and Horticulture. Mimi managed retail plant nurseries for Consumers Cooperative of Berkeley and the Sloat Garden Center\; subsequently the pair founded a popular organic horticultural business. They later became active in the California Native Plant Society and the California Horticultural Society and became involved in photography (Jorg) and botanical classification (Mimi) for the Solano Land Trust.
