DESCRIPTION:Pacifica Coalition \n\nSea Level Rise Meeting: How Will Affect You?\n\n\n\nA meeting of the Pacifica Coalition will be held to update residents about what is taking place in Pacifica with respect to Sea Level Rise.\n\n\n\nIt is important that you attend if possible. The City of Pacifica is working on conforming their Local Coastal Program (LCP) to the Coastal Commission's guidelines on Sea Level Rise. In the process\, homeowners and property owners could lose property rights and eventually their entire investment.\n\n\n\nThe City is attempting to pursue what is called\, "managed retreat\," which means pulling all of the public and private structures\, resources\, and utilities inland\, away from the coast. (Once a red line is drawn on the map\, properties in that area will start losing value and\, worst case scenario\, property owners could be barred from any construction at all\, specifically modifications that would extend the life of the structure\, like a new roof.)\n\n\n\nAll are welcome to join us\, please tell your neighbors.
