SUMMARY:Mary Harris Celebration of Life
DESCRIPTION:As a community\, we have been so blessed to have in our midst such a person as Mary Harris\, artist\, teacher\, activist\, and humanitarian extraordinaire. An original studio holder in what is now Sanchez Art Center\, Mary continued to make art throughout her life\, and was a dedicated supporter of the Art Guild of Pacifica and Sanchez Art Center\, who together will hold a Celebration of Life. The community is invited to come remember Mary\, view her artworks\, and honor the difference she made.\n\n\n\nThe theme for the celebration is Peace and Harmony. It opens with an informal reception\, light refreshments\, and Mary's artworks made available for sale at "friends-and-family" pricing. Proceeds are to go to the Sanchez Art Center\, per Mary's request. There will be music and art-making\, with peace bracelets\, peace buttons\, and the like to take away. You can leave messages and drawings on the chalkboard\, which will be photographed at the close of the celebration. Also\, the Pacifica Historical Society's "Footprints of Pacifica" videos of Mary\, created by Sharron Walker\, will be playing and available for purchase.\n\nWe hope all who knew and loved Mary will come to this special event in her honor.
